ASD-100

Overview

ASD-100 can interface to a number of different ASTERIX data inputs, including: radar video (CAT-240), plot/track reports (CAT-48), ADS-B (CAT-21), and safety alert messages (CAT-4). All data is presented on a large, clear PPI display, overlaid on top of user-selectable maps. Cambridge Pixel's field-proven scan converter is built into ASD-100, providing a smooth, flexible and accurate display of the radar video for up to four streams of radar video (e.g. raw/background, processed, MTI and secondary). Four track receiving channels are also available, allowing primary, secondary and fused/combined tracks all to be received and displayed simultaneously.

The graphical user interface has been designed with modern touchscreen displays in mind. The common controls are readily accessible and operated by large buttons. Common view controls, such as pinch-to-zoom and slide-to-pan are supported. Tools available within ASD-100 allow intercept vectors to be calculated and displayed, rulers to be drawn between reference points and targets, and individual tracks to be designated. All common user operations may be accessed through fast, easy-to-use controls.

Furthermore, ASD-100 features configurable soft buttons, allowing the user interface to be customised. For example, buttons may be configured to control SPx Server, launch external system commands, provide shortcuts to adjust the ASD-100 display.

ASD-100 is designed to work with Cambridge Pixel's suite of processing applications, including SPx Server, SPx Fusion Server and SPx SafetyNet Server. System integrators may easily build air surveillance solutions by selectng the necessary applications.  For example, SPx Server to provide tracking from primary or secondary radars, SPx SafetyNet Server to generate CAT-4 alerts and ASD-100 to provide the operator display(s).
