MD200系列为航空仪表设定了新的标准，可靠性更强、寿命更长并且读取更加方便，MD200系列可以配置为使用14V或28V安装。

Garmin已经绑定GNS 430/530系统出售了数千款该系列产品。MD200系列是CollinsMicro Line IND 350系列的pin-to-pin式替代产品，还是Bendix/King KI206的替代产品。内置的信号器查看十分方便，并可以节省大量安装成本。这些CDI具备新一代读数更准确的线性标记，以及航道选择器及分解器输出。

Mid-Continent的NAV指示器经过了FAA TSO认证， 可与GPS及VOR系统配套使用。内置的GPS通告使外部通告变得没有必要。CDI具备符合美国军用规范的连接器、抗反射玻璃、可选的挡板照明、耐用的构架及紧凑的2寸尺寸。其设计符合大多数GPS安装的要求。模式通告只针对制造商的GPS产品线。
